As this year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on just how much we’ve collectively navigated, built, and accomplished together.
If there was one defining theme of the year, it was uncertainty — particularly as it related to the constantly shifting tariff landscape. Navigating those changes required flexibility, patience, and a willingness to problem-solve in real time. I want to begin by sincerely thanking our clients who worked alongside us through that process. Your openness, collaboration, and trust made it possible for us to continue delivering solutions, even when the path forward wasn’t always clear.
That same gratitude extends to our supplier partners. The level of communication, transparency, and mutual support we experienced this year reinforced why strong relationships matter. In a global environment that continues to evolve rapidly, those partnerships allowed us to remain responsive and aligned with our clients’ needs.
I also want to acknowledge — and genuinely thank — those of you who made a conscious decision to work with a 100% Canadian-owned, local business. Those choices matter more than many people realize. They don’t disappear into an offshore account or a distant balance sheet; they stay here, supporting Canadian jobs, Canadian families, and communities in our own backyard. We don’t take that trust lightly, and we’re deeply grateful for it.
Despite the challenges, this was also a year defined by opportunity. We were fortunate to be involved in several large-scale projects and meaningful initiatives that pushed us to think bigger and work smarter. These experiences sharpened our focus and reinforced our belief that thoughtful facility design, high-quality equipment, and client-first decision-making remain at the core of what we do.
Looking ahead, I can confidently say that we have some truly exciting developments on the horizon. While I can’t share all the details just yet, the coming months will bring new opportunities, new partnerships, and new ways for us to support the professionals and organizations we serve.
One area I’m particularly optimistic about is recovery. We continue to see sustained growth and increasing interest in recovery-focused environments, and that momentum isn’t slowing down. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to tour Alberta’s first Wellness Space recovery zone, I’d encourage you to reach out and put something on the books with us. Seeing these spaces in action often sparks ideas that extend far beyond recovery alone.
Strength training also continues to be a strong growth area, with personal training maintaining its resilience and relevance. As more facilities and practitioners prioritize long-term health, performance, and client experience, we’re proud to support environments that reflect those values.
None of this would have been possible without our team. I am incredibly proud of the people at Beyond the Basics — their expertise, commitment, and care for our clients show up every day in the work they do. This year demanded adaptability and collaboration, and they delivered both in spades.
