Beyond the Basics started on the service floor.

In 2004, our General Manager Arron began working hands-on with fitness equipment in City of Calgary Recreation centers. Within two years, he and his team were certified by leading manufacturers—building a reputation for precision, reliability, and doing the work right the first time.

That foundation still defines how we operate today.

Our work is grounded in experience. We understand how equipment gets used, where spaces fail, and what makes a setup feel right the moment someone steps onto the floor. That insight shapes everything we do—from layout planning to product selection.

As our relationships grew, facilities began turning to us not just for maintenance, but for guidance on new equipment and full facility development. By 2015, we had designed and installed our 65th spin studio—marking our evolution into a trusted partner in building complete training environments.

Today, we work with gyms, hotels, studios, condominiums, corporate fitness centers, campuses, recreation centers and performance facilities to create spaces that don’t just look the part—they hold up to real use, day after day.

Our approach is consultative and tailored to each project. No two fitness facilities train the same way, so no two solutions should be the same. We work closely with our clients to understand their space, their users, and their goals—then design equipment layouts and solutions that support how they actually operate.

We’ve built our process around what matters most on the floor—durability, usability, and flow. That means thoughtful equipment selection, practical configurations, and solutions that balance performance with long-term value.

As a distributor for leading fitness equipment brands including Precor, Peloton, Atlantis, Woodway, FreeMotion, Dynamic, True and Keiser—and as the only full-service, Canadian-owned fitness equipment company in Western Canada—we bring together design, supply, installation, and ongoing support under one roof.

In 2022, we reinforced our commitment locally by purchasing our warehouse and head office in SE Calgary. In 2025, we came full circle—awarded the City of Calgary contract to supply, install, and service equipment across Recreation centers, Fire, Police, and municipal facilities.

We’re still grounded in the same principle that got us here: build spaces that work, stand up to real use, and are shaped around the people who train in them.
